Help JAM launch its Festival Orchestra, giving local players of all ages the unique chance to learn, rehearse and perform with the professional London Mozart Players. This orchestra will inspire skills and ambition on the arts-deprived Romney Marsh, benefitting local players and community audiences.

Situation
The Marsh lacks opportunity to learn, participate, attend & benefit from music, denying its benefits to mental health, well-being & progression (Arts Council/NHS). Scarce music in schools curb academic, social & personal achievement (Ofsted). The Marsh has above average older population with social isolation linked to mental health issues (Census). JAM’s Festival Orchestra will enable musicians to thrive & the community to enjoy experiences with friends/family & be proud of its musicians.
Solution
In 2023, local players aged 8-76 performed with pro LMP at JAM on the Marsh to a sell-out local audience. Their compelling feedback confirmed the experience boosted skills, ambition, confidence & inclusion; all wanting more. JAM will solve this lack of provision by launching a Festival Orchestra. From April LMP will lead inspirational monthly workshops for local amateurs of all ages, driving skills & a vibrant performance with LMP in July, attended by the community & filmed for broadcast.
